4630 quad topshaft and shifter forks

I was trying to figure out how to remove the front bearing on the topshaft to replace the disc. Book says press or puller. So I'd assume attach a puller or set it up in a press behind the gear where my finger is? Is that the right way...don't want to screw up a shaft. And one more thing I was curious about is can I weld up the shifter forks to build them up and if so I was just going to use a mig . I would think building them up with brass would be to soft. They are pricey from Deere. Thanks for the help

Sweet....thank you sir!! I hate to bug you but do you have any advice on the shift forks? I thought I remember reading an old post that you "built some up". I really don't want to spend around 700 dollars each for them at Deere. Haven't called salvage yard yet but used ones may not be much better than mine.

I'll give it a try and see how it turns out. Was just worried about controlling the cooling and not getting it to brittle from the welding. Probably try to regulate the cooling with sand is my plan. Thanks for the help...it's greatly appreciated.
