Styled B Carb Help

Going through the carb on a '49 B and I have a few questions. First off I'm missing something in the choke linkage because the lever doesn't move the butterfly. I've been starting it by holding the butterfly closed. What's missing in my linkage and where do I get it? Second question, what sets the choke open position? The choke rotates past open and partially closes in the other direction right now (see second photo). Maybe this will be fixed with the linkage piece I'm missing, or is something else wrong with the choke and it should rest at fully open even without the linkage?

Pics didn't load the first time.

The coil spring on the shaft that hooks around the cross pin is what closes the choke. Spring broken or installed wrong or not hooked onto the lever. The lever should have a pin that pushes the choke open. Spring closes, positive open. Pretty rusty, do you have the cover? Roberts should have what you need.

I don't have the cover. The spring is working, but the choke springs open (actually half way past open until it's partially closed the wrong way around). I can turn the choke by hand at the pin, but it snaps back open (not shut). Maybe the spring is on backwards? Let me see if I can get more pics, maybe someone can tell me what's hooked up wrong. Someone was into this carb at some point before I got the tractor because the needle/seat is new. It's also missing the strainer on the inlet. Actually ran fine like this last fall, even though the choke must have been half closed the whole time.

Choke open.

Choke closed.

Plate closed. The part above the shaft is bent toward the flange. Don't know if the B model is the same. Roberts has the cover and gasket.

Mike, does the pin in the choke plate make contact with the pin across the end of the choke shaft when the choke is opened? I think my choke plate is bent which is why it doesn't shut properly. If that pin is supposed to make contact to open it mine is too short. If that's not how it's supposed to work I may have to play with it some more.

What is that small lever in front of the choke plate? The little tin one at the end of the bolt/spring?
