Restored JD 4020 sale

Not a bad price for 100 horsepower tractor compared to the 100 horsepower plastic and tinfoil lawn mowers they make now . If it was done right and everything was gone through and rebuilt / repaired and not just a pretty coat of paint and a new seat .
 
There were 2 ruff but mechanically diesel 4020 sold last weekend for around $5000 each. The gassers were less then $2500 also in southern Indiana.
 
Hopefully they didn't use a genuine jd seat. Do you remember that seat I bought in late December you wanted an update on. I told you a little while ago I didn't like it. Here's another small update, after three months of light usage the vinyl on the armrest is already starting to crack. I'm not happy at all with it.
 
There's a 1972 Power Shift with 1800 original one owner hours coming up for auction on Saturday. Wonder what that will bring.
 
That does suck . I have a John Deere seat on one tractor that?s 7 years old and always sits outside no cover and it doesn?t have one crack in it yet
 
You best go to see. Last one I saw in Ohio about 15 years ago ? was under 6000 hours and it brought 15,000 nice clean original sold at local farmers retirement sale.
I think just a year ago my cousin seen one that brought 10,000 or 12,000 ? so they might be dropping in price ? Anything less than 10,000 might be worth buying. So if it is a little known sale who knows ? or if a big well known auction the sky might be the limit !
 
I would guess there was something very unique about it. I did see a late 4020 wheatland optioned,P.S. with HFWA on Mecums sell well.I was also at the auction where a low houred H Farmall all original brought $40K so it does happen.
 
If done correctly with engine O.H. new clutch etc, add all new tires, plus perfect paint easy to spend close to $20K if you have all the work done at JD rates of $120+ per hour which mount up fast.I saw a 70 4000 syngro with 3700 actual hours all original very nice but only had 1 scv no sale at $16500 on consignment sale yesterday.
