JD B fuel tank?

I have a 1943 JD B that has a rusty fuel tank. I want to take it off and put fuel tank liner in it. How much of a job is it to take the fuel tank out? Is there a lot that has to come off to get it out? Thanks

It is not too bad a job. You will have to take the hood off and the tank will come with it. I did my 1950 B last summer and painted the hood (repainted) while it was off. I bought a motor cycle gas tank liner kit from TP tools here in Ohio. Just wish I had used some abrasive inside the tank before I lined it as it was every difficult to get it completely clean.

Back together now. Had the carb rebuilt by Poppinjohn while cleaning the tank.

You have to remove the steering shaft to get the hood and tank off. You pull the steering wheel off and take the two bolts of the front on the pedestal and twist the shaft out.
