So an update is in order.
Took the unit off the tractor and took it to a gentleman that had experience with 40, 420, 430 TOMs. After paying for the rebuild, the unit still did not work correctly. One of the reasons is that even though he used the service manual from the 420, 430. The unit on the 435 is a hybrid, and is found on the 1010 tractor (just found this out yesterday). When I say hybrid I mean it has the housing of a dual TOM, but the rock shaft is one piece, being actuated by both pistons. So the 420, 430 service manual is not adequate to facilitate reassembly of the unit.
There is a splined shaft coming out the side of the unit, that the control lever pivots on. Normally this shaft controls one portion of the Dual Tom. However in this case it does not pivot. It is pinned in place using a splined plate.
With the shaft held in the middle point of the rotation range. The rock shaft arms rise to horizontal and parallel to the ground. Once you move the lever to the down position, you can push them back down easily. If you rotate the shaft one spline to the right, the arms rise to full up. When moving the control lever to the down position, you can push the rockshaft arms down, but takes considerable force.
The arms rise regardless of control lever position.
So I need access to a 1010 service manual, to see the settings (turns) for the relief valves. and to make sure I have the shaft in the correct pinned position.
I would be grateful, if some one would share just that portion of the 1010 service manual.
Thanks in advance
