4010 John deere 3-point

I have a john deere 4010 and I always used my 730 to put hay out but it was down so 4010 jumped in. It picked up the roll but very slow but drops it like a stone. Any ideas?

You could adjust the rate of drop screw located in rockshaft piston cover by loosening lock nut then turning CW a little. How long since hyd filter was changed & sump screen checked/cleaned?

Have you tried re-positioning L/D lever under seat to a different setting? It's possible L/D mechanism needs adjusting as outlined in a JD 4000 series tech manual.
