4840 PTO Brake

On a 4840 with a power shift transmission. To get at the PTO brake for repair you have to double split the tractor correct?

Just the brake,1 split at trans to rear.If you have to replace warped pto discs,a split at the bell housing is required

My pressures are good but PTO won?t stop turning and PTO slips when putting it on the dyno.

When the clutches get over heated from slippage they warp and the brake will not hold,,Yes it takes 2 splits to get to the brake,,your issue started in the clutch,but be sure to take the time to go on into the brake,,some times the brake shoe anchor pin shears and let the shoe spin in the housing,,it don't take long till it wears the housing out.
