how i put new gen weights on a 720

had a couple people ask how i mounted new gen slab weights on my 720 so thought i would share on a new post. i used 5/8" plate to make the adapter. the following text goes along with the pictures with dimensions listed on them.

all distances between bolt holes are center to center. i tapped threads for the bolts that hold the starter weights to the bracket but there is room to use nuts behind the plate if you don't have a 3/4" tap to cut threads with.

the 4 spacers where the starter weights bolt on are 0.6" on mine, if i was doing it over i would make them at least 0.75" up to 1". at 0.6" there is some clearance issues that would be taken care of with a little longer bushing.

the bushing on the tractor side for the center bolt is 0.7" tall and i have 0.26" of washers on the 2 top 5/8" studs between the tractor and plate to get clearance between the plate and front of tractor frame.

i think that should be every detail you need to make your own but if i missed something just ask

I really like your work. Nothing is destroyed only created & one might find frt weights at a lessor price. To top it all off, it Looks Great!

THey look fine on your 720 and like you stated the original 2 cyl weights can bring $1000+ I personally think what you have done looks better than trying to use double stack set up.

yeah i haven't decided if i'm going to bother with a double stack or not, it'll get them kinda high covering about half the grill, and im not exactly sure if i really will need all 6 slabs let alone the extra weight a double will provide, for 6 slabs i can hang them all on 1 stack. i had been running 6 suitcase weights hanging out about 1 foot in front of the nose and got along just fine so with what i have now ill have about 660#, 60 pounds more than before.

How much would you need to build me one? I have a 730 that sure needs some weight in the front, and I have a set of new gen weights. I'm sure I could cobble something up but the one you made looks like a factory piece...
