2019 New York Two Cylinder Expo July 11, 12, 13

Would like to go again since it has been about ten years ago that I went. Would just go to site see as it is about seven hour drive and too far to haul anything. Last time I wanted to go I was told there would be no interest in what I wanted to bring, still have a bad taste from that. Next years Expo in Wooster is closer and more accessible, just hope they are able to keep that show going. Noticed things at the Wooster Expo that I had not experienced before, vendors willing to sell at reasonable prices. Supply and demand at work in my favor for once.

Will certainly look for your display if I can get there.

If you are not aware, the management team of the NY Expo has changed. One of the reasons that we signed up again, is to do what we can to help the show grow and improve.
What did you want to bring the last time that you attended? I can't think of anything related to John Deere that would not be welcomed. Everything from toys to New Gen is displayed there and welcomed, cleaned up or in "work clothes".

If anyone has any questions or comments about the show, let me know. If I can't answer them, I will forward them to my neighbor who is a director.

I was trying to decide if I wanted to make the trip to the New York Expo (2011) when I called one of the contact persons listed on their web site. I explained that I would like to bring a john deere 60 in it's work close that I had a new old stock Hinson weather break on together with a new wind shield. I had acquired this at a John Dealer close out auction in Willow Dell Ohio and have discussed that here at that time. I was told there would be no interest in that, so I stayed home.

I will admit it is not a trailer queen but I have not seen a better running 60 as this tractor spent most of its working life on a farm as the picker tractor after it was joined by a 4020 that took over the tillage chores. (wish I had that picker too but some one beat me to it)

I also have a new old stock Heat Houser canvas on my 70 D.

I remember when we got a new heat houser to put on our 720D,,we were tickled pink with it..

I certainly would have took a walk around it. I like original tractors that are still in use. I feed cows everyday with a 3010 that has a Hinson heater cab on it. It is sad how the your is not correct and the mine is better than yours and it was not like that from the factory has hurt the tractor hobby. I was at the NY show about 20 years ago and did enjoy it. Dan,
might you favor us with one more pic, if you have it, from the back looking at the windbreak toward the front? also the windshield?
I've never seen such a critter, and would like to see how it fits against the sheet metal and leg area.
I'll never have, or need one, but it's quite interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Bob,
I do have some from the back which is wide open and the wind shield you will see is one of three extras that I use in the woods. One note I might add is I use these loader tractors in my woods where the wind is not usually a factor. The gas tractors supply plenty of heat, the diesel not so much.

Dan, your 60 looks pretty clean and straight, especially considering that you use it in the woods. If you ever decide to show either of your tractors in NY, they would be an interesting display. I always had the idea of putting one of those on my 730D, especially when I used it to pick corn, but I never spent the money to do it. Do the straps or canvas chaff the paint?

Yes, I think that the show is not as uptight as it was several years ago. I think that they have some new blood in there. Finger Lakes 2 Cylinder Club had a reputation as being very uptight but a lot of those people have exited the scene for various reasons. Some good people now gone as well unfortunately. It had to change as interest was declining jeopardizing its existence. Last time I was there there were a few exhibits that were not shiny with new paint.

Most years somebody drags in a rough 830I or 830 ricer , can’t recall which . Anyways very little paint left on it and no electrical wires left on it .

Have our accommodations booked .
At the 2017 Show I did hear talk regarding “if” there would be a 2019 show . I couldn’t keep quiet and stated how much we enjoy the trip down there , the people and the show . Received a somewhat surprised response .

Good looking heat housers on your 60 and 70. I used to deal in at Willowdell, nice folks the Simons were. Darke County, OH where they were at at one time had 3 JD dealers in it. I have a heat houser for my 60 and one for my 3010.

If you mean the show that the 60 is at in the picture that is the LaGrange Engine Club in Wellington, Ohio (usually mid Sept.). Great place to see a nicely restored industrial DI in action.

Jim,

I have not noticed those straps bothering the paint although the Hinson Weather break has springs on the ends of the straps instead of straps with buckets and they might potentially cause problems but I have not noticed anything. Be aware if you do put one on they really limit your vision. That is why I removed the Heat Houser from my snow plow tractor. Just is too scary using the heavy 82 snow blade on fresh (2 years old) black top.
