Need help updating hyd oil cooler on 3020 Power Shift

I have an early 1964 3020 Power Shift with a hyd oil cooler like the following.

The cooler leaks so I'm trying to figure out if I can replace with later style cooler like key 22 below. At one time Deere had a kit available to do the conversion, but NLA. The later coolers are available from aftermarket, but with no instructions.

Questions:
The earlier cooler only has an opening at the bottom of the cooler that slides into hose (key #36 in earlier style) that connects to pump housing via a 90 elbow fitting. The later cooler style replaced that opening at the bottom of the cooler with a closed tube that extends down (just above #34 on later style). Maybe this closed tube is only to support the cooler. If so, what do I do with the old hose and connection to pump? Do I plug it?

Also the later cooler style has a line coming out bottom that has a 90 bend and then connects to hose (key #28 in later style). Where does this hose go?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hose on the bottom goes to the fitting on top the hyd pump. I have one of the replacement kits here that was almost new when we removed it from a 3020 powershift we parted out. I would sell it for a lot less than Deere. Post back if interested. Thanks Tom

I should have been a little more clear. The piece that sticks strait down is just the peg the cooler sets on. The elbow is what connects to top of the hyd. pump. Tom

Hose #28 goes to a banjo fitting on top of the pump.
You fave to plug the side hole where the elbow is.
Your best bet is Tom's kit if complete.

Thanks for the great info. Thanks for the offer of a cooler, but I've already purchased an aftermarket cooler. The kit that came with it doesn't work well on my early 3020, but now that I know where things go, I can get the correct fittings.

Again, many things for the quick response.

Tom, any chance you have key # 23 in the later cooler diagram. The Deere part is R41731. I could probably make something, but . . .

I have it but want to keep the whole kit together. It is just a piece of flat steel that bolts to the bracket that fits under the fuel tank strap if I remember right. You should be able to make something. Tom
