5105 or 5205 rear light wiring routing

Any suggestions on routing the wiring for a rear work light on a 5105 (or 5205)?

I have a rear light attached to the top flasher assembly bolt on the ROPS. It appears to me that the wiring from the light should run down the inside of the ROPS and end up under the seat to connect to the matching black and purple wires. The top part is easy - there is a hole for the wiring in the ROPS between the two bolts which attach the flasher assembly to the ROPS.

What do I need to do to get access to the bottom of the ROPS?

HI LC

I know I am in Australia but what ever you do don't drill a hole in the ROPS. This will void the engineers certification and if something happens all bets are off. What about routing it down the outside of the ROPS frame with the wire inside some of that black plastic wrap around stuff secured with zip ties?

I agree completely, modifying a ROPS is dangerous.

Fortunately for me, the tractor came from the factory with a hole drilled in the ROPS in the correct location. It seemed likely to me that the engineers at Deere designed the hole there for routing a wire, and routing the wire through the ROPS would give the installation a neat appearance.

Zip ties and a plastic cover are my backup plan if I can't route the wires through the ROPS.

Just posting back with my results. YMMV.

Got the light installed with the wire threaded through the ROPS. It appears that you can install the light either on the left or right side; I installed mine on the right side because I had better access to the access hole at the bottom of the ROPS upright post on the right hand side.

I threaded a 48 inch zip tie down through the hole between the hazard light mounting bolts. I fished it out through the hole at the inside front of the ROPS post. I then taped a piece of string trimmer line to the end of the zip tie and pulled it back through the hole. I used the string trimmer line to pull the wiring from the light assembly through the ROPS post. Note that the string trimmer line was almost too large when taped to the plug - consider something with a smaller diameter.

You'll need a 13mm wrench and socket. I lightly coated the terminal ends with dielectric grease. I ran the wires in the plastic wire loom cover already on the tractor and zip tied them away from the differential lock bar.

One person can install this light, but a helper would save several steps.

Hope this helps!
