4430 oil leak

I have a 4430 power shift 1974. There is an oil leak from park pawl shaft. In manual it shows removal with clutch pack out. Is that the only way to remove the shaft and replace o-ring. Splitting tractor seems a bit much to replace an o-ring. Thanks for any info. Ken

IIRC, the seal is an O-ring that fits in a groove in the shaft that locks the pawl, and the shaft has to be removed "inward" making an easy fix impossible.
