M Clutch Noise

Tractor has a clutch noise; initially was only a rrrr when shifted into reverse, now is the same in forward gears. Once released it holds fine and shifts fine. The tractor has been split prior to arriving here. Your thoughts?? Selling for a friend; so, don't want to invest a lot of time or money. Thanks

I think you are looking at a do over on the split. Could be several things but you're going to have to open it up to see. How much free play in the pedal?

No Gear Noise. Only occurs as you let out the clutch; then clutch engages and works fine and holds under load of brakes, have not hooked it to anything. Thanks.

Ouch, I had a 420 that the last person put the clutch disk in backwards and it eventually ground the rivets down into the flywheel and everyone was happy.

Had another deal where the pilot bearing was not greased on reassembly and it sounded nasty.

good luck and let us knew how it went. maybe it is time for you to bail. :)
