Brake is stuck on tractor ..it will move but super stuck...is it a big job to take apart... I assume you just unbolt the two bolt flange on the side of case and it just pull straight out.

Today i fixed the stuck radiator shutter..they were rusted real bad

Take a look at the photo below of the left side of "Old John" Nancy's 48A.

Take a look at the end of the brake shaft with 1" nut.

Remove the cotter pin (Key 35), 1" nut (Key 34), washer (Key 33), and pinion (Key 35).

Loosen the adjusting screw (Key 15) by turning it clockwise to remove tension on the springs.

Remove the brake drum (Key 1) and brake shaft (Key 2).

Hope this helps.

It was ugly but I finally got it apart. I did twist off the end of the adjuster and broke one of the ears that connect the brake shoe so I needed to find new parts. Talk about seized up

Im in the process of putting new liners on my shoes. Are you going to turn the brake drums or just clean them up? A local machine shop quoted me a price of 75 dollars each. I think im going to pass on that and clean them up with some sand paper.

I used some 180 grit Abranet sandpaper...worked fine
