The the machinists says he can resleeve my 4-11/16 since it is allready .125 over. Also he said you do not have to worry with checking for cracks. Since your sleeving the block. Anybody run into the maxim oversized block. And resleeve like this.

I had a G block sleeved, and then bored to .125 over. The block was cracked before I had it sleeved.

So you must have a later styled B with the pressed steel frame ?
You most certainly DO have to worry about cracks ! If it happens to be cracked out towards the ends especially the area where the head studs are at. If cracked around the stud area tightening up the head can open it up and leak antifreeze.

I sleeved my GP small bore because it had a crack from freezing. It had sat since 94 and water got in the left cylinder. I did the work myself and ended up doing both sides and reusing the pistons. New rings and valves, and exhaust seats installed. You can buy any size sleeve from L.A. Sleeve. Not very expensive at all and going back to standard bore is nice.

If they are in tight as most are rusted fast in letter series tractors, leave them alone ! Find someone with the equipment to bore them with the studs left in place. I'm pretty sure a shop I had bore an A block might of cracked it when removing the studs. I found another block and another shop with big enough equipment to bore an A block with the studs left in place. They work on semi truck blocks.
Also the back side of the studs are open into the water jacket area and the threads get eat away and can ruin the good threads as they are unthreaded out of the block.
