Rear axle wedge removal

Trying to remove the wedge on a John Deere 50 with the key way half wedge. I have the "special" tool that you put over the axle and hit with a sledge hammer to move wedge toward the center of the tractor. Not moving. 1 of the jack screw is rusted tight. No help there. Otherwise I have all 6 bolts removed that hold the wedges. 3 on inside and 3 on the outside. Used a lot of PB and WD-40. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

If its driveable and weather permitting take it for a drive with the bolts in but loose. Also lube the good jack bolt, by taking it out and lubing.

Dad had a 2520 once that spent most of it's life as a scrapper tractor on a big dairy and we ran it for over a year untill the wheel came loose. Was plowing on the side if a steep hill when he heard the wedge pop. Tom

If axle is far enough, drill the wedge without key and tap 2 5/8 holes.
If you have 1 psher bolt loose, you should be fine anyway: Remove it, lube it, tighten it, and HIT HARD the end of the axle VERTICALLY.
The impact wave will loosen the wedge. Tapping horizontally is much less effective.

My 4010 was stuck tight. In the same position for 40 years. I loosened all bolts, inner and outer and then drove it around the yard stopping it with the brake. (On the side I wanted loose). Heard a pop and then it was loose.

Had the same issues with my 50. Unfortunately The two jack screws were also missing However with a lot of PB Baster and a good 8 pound sledge hammer along with several breaks, I was able to free one half of the wedge. Turning the tire 180 degrees " Using gravity to help" and hit the casting a few more times to drop it off the axle. with everything apart I simply wire wheeled the castings and cleaned it up.
