This is an update on the rockshaft housing removal and inspection that I started on my JD 60 about a week ago. Per advice from other members of this forum I decided to replace the oil seals on the pump housing that the pto runs through. Once I got the old seals out I saw that the bushing was scored pretty bad so I ordered a replacement through deere. Today I got the parts and installed the bushing carefully and slowly. However, I wanted some clarification before driving both seals in. I drove the first one back till it seated against the bushing. Does the second seal, (which I understand should have the lip out in opposite direction of the back one) seat back to back with the other seal or should there be a space between the two? I notice theres a small hole/passage in the pump housing that the back seal partially covers. Did I drive it too far back? Thanks,
Pete
