I bought that seat around a month ago and
I've formed my opinion on it. It hasn't
gotten any softer to sit on. It's about as
bad as sitting on a flat rock. I had a
cheapie universal seat on before. It was
by far more comfortable. Just for
reference I'm 6'2 and 230 pounds so someone
smaller might have a different opinion than
mine. Sitting in the seat both hips rub
the arm rests. The cheapie is around 3"
wider so I'm not rubbing on it. The genuine
jd seat on my 4010 is about the same width
but somehow is made differently and has
more room. The back on it is nice though.
The back on the cheapie was tilted back to
far and when I lean back I stare at the
sky. It is a lot better than the jd seat
though. The seat is longer than the other
two which is actually a bad thing. It sits
so close to the steering wheel I have to
rub my leg pretty hard to get off and on.
Feeding cattle like I am right now I have
to get off and on rather often. Opening
gates, shutting gates, cutting net wrap,
moving feeders is a major pain. The arm
rests are completely useless on both jd
seats. They are several inches from my
elbows. The cheapie has actual useable arm
rests. Overall the cheapie is a better
seat except for the back rest leaning to
far back. I bought this as a Christmas
present for myself and I personally
wouldn't waste my money on another one.
