Roosa CBC injection pump rebuilt. Need help

I have a 69 500A backhoe with 4.4L engine and CBC style pump. it runs great but leaks out of the throttle shaft/ linkage. I bought a seal kit from standodyne, but they wont share the diagrams with me. I am a machinist by trade and mechanic by hobby and am confident I can take this apart in a clean well documented manor to get it re-assembled properly, but I would need to know if there are any screws/ adjustments to leave alone due to calibration. is it even possible to take this thing apart without throwing off the calibration? I do not have access to any equipment to recalibrate is why I ask. any help or advise would be great. thanks!

Your machine is about 50 years old. Do you know when the pump was last rebuilt? You may or may not succeed without recalibration. To me any pump needing to be resealed should be completely gone through as it likely has wear of other components than just seals. It should be run on a test stand before it is reinstalled. Some things are best turned over to those with all the tools and equipment to do the job with. JMHO, not doubting your skills.

hello,, take out the socket head screw holding the throttle lever on, unscrew the long nut from the end of the throttle tube, poke out the gear with your finger, next pull the throttle rack out, just be careful that the spring & thrust button don"t float out, replace the small oring on the end of rack as this one is really your leak, lube it and slide back in, look at the gear for worn teeth, install gear 180 degrees from original position to engage NEW teeth, install new orings,, if the rack teeth are worn bad you may need a new one,, parts are scarce. when you put the lever on, index it to work with your linkage. i worked these pumps back in the 70"s.

I'm looking for a little help on a very similar topic. My JD400 Backhoe with the Roosa Master JDB pump is leaking from the shut off solenoid and throttle shaft. The shut off solenoid is really leaking bad. I know I can reseal the shut off solenoid without pulling the pump, but would also like to reseal the throttle shaft. My question is, if I pull the pump, and not turn the pump shaft or turn the engine crank shaft do I have to worry about re-timing the engine? Basically I'd like to slid it out, reseal a couple of parts and slide it back in. If lightly touched will the pump shaft turn?? This backhoe gets little use so I hate to put a lot of cash into it.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

Should be able to find info online with the DB pumps. Ill do a write up with pics and post it when I reseal my throttle shaft
