hydraulics 4010

I have a 4010 JD. with a old JD. no.48 loader now operates with the remote dual hydraulic. I would like to mount a joy stick hydraulic valve to give me better control when slow steady movement is needed.my knowlege of hydraulic systems is not very good so heres my question? with the valve in place and pressurised will the valve in the center position hold the system presurised.
Help would much appericated.

Should be a glug on the right side clutch housing below the steering wheel to get pressure oil.....a ported filter cover is a good way to return oil

4010 is a closed center system. Adding a valve for a loader has to be closed center too. I have a double spool beside my seat to run my loader. It is a closed center valve by putting a threaded plug in the main port and the return is in a different location.

One of the characteristics of closed center hyd's which a 4010 with a 48 loader will have is pressure trapped in lines & control valves which is the reason a dedicated open center valve should not be utilized. If CC valve wont hold pressure then spools &/or valve housing is worn internally requiring replacement of complete valve assembly.

Most of the two spool loader valves I've seen had a replaceable relief valve for either open or closed center use.....could be used on either system with the appropriate relief cartridge
