I find these very interesting regardless of the tractor brand. I still have the dealer price quote for a 4250 from around 1984. Maybe I will figure out how to post it one of
these days. I also have a few parts invoices from two different long defunct JD dealers from the 1960's. I remember going with dad to a Deere dealer around the fall of 1977
with the dealer saying he could put dad into a new 6620 combine for 50,000 dollars including heads. I used to remember the conversation exactly but have forgotten some
of the details. Dad wound up buying a different used combine and got 5,000 dollars for his old machine on trade.

So what else could someone of bought around 40 years ago beat the snot out of it ,wrote it off on your taxes and sell it for as much or more than you paid for it ?

Mike M., very, very few things with an engine in them anyway. My neighbor down the road used to say the same thing you did, but he would add Harley Davidson motorcycles.
I know nothing about HD motorcycles so I dont know if its actually true or not. I would presume very few people could have legitimately wrote it off on their tax return
however!

NY 986, I REALLY hope that you find and are able to post that on the 4250. That will be appreciated. I do have a 1983 John Deere (brand-new) Purchase Order Agreement on my 4250 2-wheel drive, Sound-Gard, powershift, with digital tach and Investigator II Warning System. The original owner gave it to me when I bought the tractor from him. I will try and get it posted sometime.

Most everything has went up 10X since I graduated in 1964 .I bought a new 1206 price was around $8000 new Impala SS $3000 pack of gum was 3for$.10 gas $.25 .The only thing that hasnt went up as much is the products we produce.Actually I bought at least 20 4440s for less than $20K in the 3/5 years ago and its hard to find a nice one for that now.The $13K tractor in 1973 is $130K today
