i'm working with a 6420, at the farm. farmer said yellow slimy stuff was oozing out the top of the plastic tank on top of radiator, this was the first time customer realized something was going bad. the liquid he had drained in the bucket was a light gray color. if it was engine oil it would have a darker color as the engine oil was definitely BLACK as usual. no sign of any coolant in crankcase. if hydralic oil i guess the trans. hydraulic oil cooler, anybody had a failure here?

I posted here 2 or three years ago with EXACTLY the same issue. NASTY coolant in a 6420. VERY nasty.

We did the official DEERE analysis, coolant, engine oil, and hydraulic oil.

NO issues were found.

Flushed system and installed new coolant.

OK so far.

Thought was the original coolant had gone "bad".

Hope you are seeing the same "issue".
