630 Elephant Ear Wear Strip

I recently picked up a complete three point hitch assembly for a 630. I have noticed on the right elephant ear that the wear strip is gone. That part number (A5714R) is proving to be difficult to find on ebay or even restoration websites. Is that wear strip really necessary and if so does anyone know how to get one? Otherwise I will keep looking and maybe check a salvage yard.

Hum ? from what I remember ( which is less everyday ) that is just a piece of flat stock bent to fit and riveted in place ? Should be easy enough to make one. Not sure if they are harder steel or plain though.

I agree with Mike - I'd make one. Both of the wear strip/width adjusters were gone from my 630 when I got it. Nothing but the naked elephant ear. I made one for each side, copied somewhat off of the Deere originals. Been on there for 35 years or so.
