That's the only way to do one. Clear down ! I hope you also resealed the power steering unit while right there too. Leave nothing untouched. IIRC that should be 4th/6th gear ? Show that picture of chewed up teeth to the "we shift on the fly" crowd. Bull gears ? wonder if some of that was fretting from metal flakes running through them ? verses just moisture damage ? How do the other side of those teeth look ?

For 1200 dollars I would have been tickled to have gotten a hold of that 630. For the couple thousand you are spending it will be a solid tractor never mind if you paint it or not.
