Power trol selector valve

My first thought is those valves were all the same , but then maybe they are not ? They made different tips for use on G and 70 models but maybe that is just a thread size difference ? I'd sure check the parts books.

Mike M,

I checked the parts book for the B and it does not show the selector valve. I have one in another tractor ( 70D) that I may pull to check but not wanting to make a mess under two tractors if not necessary . For some reason I can not get the cylinder on my snow plow to work with the remotes plumbed into the side. Works on my loader tractors, does not make any sense .

Dan: There is only one style selector valve for Power-Trol; It was first use on numbered series tractors, in about 54" / 55" , when the aero-quip style break-a-way couplers came along pic. , for drawn Implements, ; It purpose was to give two way pressure for side ports on Power-Trol [ which are only one way pressure [bottom port] with top port return for loaders etc.. If cyl. on snow plow is two way [ double acting ] it would take ample down pressure to return oil to Power-Trol, such as loader would have.. single acting cyl. one hose needs same amount down pressure..

No.

Take a look at the description below for the valve housing for the Model B.

Note the range ends at PVC [b:654c4848f0]67904[/b:654c4848f0].

Hope this helps.

My 1950 B does have a selector valve and the exposed end looks like the one in my 70D. Guess I will have to pull them both to see if they are the same.

Dan: Styled B's after late "48" used Power-Trol serial # PCV-67905 or larger.. Selector & brake away are in PC-330 [see page]... pic 2 A3613R [sub AA5535R]// pic 3 AA5534R [sub A3134R]

I was not thinking of that valve. I was thinking of the complete power trol valve box. lol.

The instructions James posted mention to adjust as per page 50 ? or section 50 ? I do think there is adjustment needed maybe to the one on the left side of the unit ?
I have not messed with those selectors much. I do not know if you can get 2 way cylinder action when using them ? I do know that normally without one you can only get one way cylinder action when porting in from the side.

long green line man,

Your knowledge and understanding of these systems is unsurpassed. Thank you for your reply. What I have found as I work to beat the coming snow storm is somewhat embarrassing . Having had to use a borrowed selector valve to get this tractor to work last summer before our annual show I decided to let her sit till now and the selector valve has gone back to the donor tractor. With this set up it lifted the blade but it would not hold very long.

Today I decided to look at it again knowing my 60 parked next to it has the same set up with remotes plumbed out the right side to operate a 45 loader and it works fine. I decided to switch the hoses to the opposite ports with fitting on the cylinder near the (L) plugged into the bottom remote. THAT did it, now it works as it should. I know I read that somewhere but I can not find it only the black cylinder with hydraulic stop. Anyway she works fine now an is ready to plow snow. Thanks to all who responded .

Thanks ; On the older low pressure ABG. mechanical stop cyl's the L indicates Load; / On low pressure green hyd. stop cyl's ; pressure line should attach to post with hyd. stop.,, That is a Dandy looking 82 front blade. I've see several on 3010's &3020's & new they made factory mounts for 2 cyl's. have not seen one.. I've always wanted one for my 2510 PS. diesel...
