JD A Clutch Floor Board

JD A clutch lever is some what loose. Is there any way to tighten it by replacing the pin? JD A Floor Board - Do the two large screws extend into the transmission requiring some kind of sealer on the treads? What about a JD 70 floor board screws? Thanks!

Floor plate mounting are blind holes. They don't go into the trans. As far as the clutch lever. If you are talking about the lever pivot, there's a bushing that can be replaced. And replace the pivot pin. Just don't break the casting trying to remove the old pin. If you are talking about the clevis ends and pins, you can drill them out for a oversized pin.

Not sure which pin you are referring to, but DO NOT hammer on the pin that supports the hand clutch lever. The ear can break off of the first reduction gear cover. Rig up a press of some sort using a c-clamp and a socket, or purchase the tool for the job.

I think the floor plate screws on my JD 50 went through into the transmission, but I did not use any sealer on them. Maybe I should have?

Here's an example of a home-built press that has worked well for me in removing clutch pivot pins
