I have a john deere 302-A backhoe and everything works as should but I have no forward movemen. I replaced the main clutch and replaced the forward clutch pack the old one was burnt up. Changed fluid with new and still the same. The hoe won't go forward.I have a parts and service manual for the machine. But can't really figure out where to exactly check the pressure. Some one said that if the power steering is working then the transmission pump is working. But from what I've seen is the power steering works off of the main hydraulic pump not the trans pump. I NEED HELP BAD. The pics in the manual is not the best in some figures. So it's hard to tell.

Steering should be coming off the main hydraulic pump. The transmission pump supplies charge oil to the main pump. The brakes are supplied by the transmission pump I believe, as is the reverser. You don't have forward, but you do have reverse; is this correct? You say you have manuals. Are they OEM John Deere and what are the publication numbers on them? Someone may have the same manual they can look at to help you.

You may want to put this post over on the Crawlers, Dozers, Loaders and Backhoes Forum as that group focuses more on the industrial/construction equipment.

Be sure to check reverser linkage as this linkage has been known to loose a roll pin. IIRC one can check reverser pressure on RH side on shifter valve. Pressure should be 155-165 psi.
