This is part is in the inventory I have. The images show it pretty well, couldn't find the number in the master catalogue. There is a bronze bushing with a 3/4" ID, and a place or a grease fitting. Casting Number is 3184.

Thanks-

Jim,

That won't help much. The front cover is just something the ebay seller made up.
The best thing I have is the new Index page I just emailed to you today.

Can you tell me how you took my photos and put them into your YT post?

Pete

The numerical index you're referring to was it also referred to as the "master parts index"?

Jim,

NO, just Numerical Index.

When I bought it off ebay years ago I thought it was the MPI or MPL but found out differently when I got it.

Here's your 2 photo's you emailed me. I still can't determine where PC 100 is from as I don't see PC 100 on JD's parts site..

That's sure interesting!

When I was looking at the spreader parts, a search for "H" turns up "PCC063" which is a "collection" of parts catalogs, covers "SPREADERS A, B, C, D, E, ET, H, HH, K, P-A, AND P SPREADER-EVENERS".

The tractor parts catalog you guys are talking about seems to be a "collection" of tractor parts catalogs, so I was wondering if it was actually labelled "PCC100", but I see not, and searching for "PCC100" gets nowhere, either.

We need (has someone already started???) a site like the one linked below, but for DEERE parts!

Bob,

The catalog is Numerical Index, PC-100 with a print date of June 1950. Next to the date it says Revised Numerical Index.

Is it possible that prior to some date, maybe 1950, that JD had all parts lists in one catalog? This would explain the high page numbers listed in PC-100

I agree with you that on rare occasions JD part #s & casting #s are identical.

Hay, while I'm sure you are more or less CORRECT, check out the example of the previous part "Deeretails" asked about, 4312-SC... the casting number IS in the parts list, even though it's an assembly.

Casting numbers and part numbers are 2 separate things.

The 3184 is a casting number for the bearing housing, once they press the bearing into the housing now it becomes an assembly (bearing & housing) with a completely different part number.
Unless you thumb through thousands of pages of old parts manuals tiring to find a casting number in the part number description, your on a wild goose chase.

Jim,

I understand what you're saying.

New question: B2612R shows up in the Master Index, PC-100, as used on Model Bs with two references to page and key numbers. The page numbers are much higher than the number of pages in the B catalog, PC-330.
What catalog is it referring to?

Pete

I was referring to the "where used search" on JD parts site not the actual parts catalogs. I still remember the lecture I recieved from JD dealer "to be sure to read part descriptions & footnotes before selecting part #s" when I was 1st employed in parts dept at JD dealership back in the 60's.

"Deeretails" posted a photo of another part a few days ago, and I thought it might not be a DEERE part because of no casting mark and an unusual part number, but I was WRONG, and this may well be a DEERE part, as well.

My though was it's a pivot point for a linkage, such as the clutch and brake linkage under the operator's platform of a combine, or other machine.

Looked at a few older combine parts catalogs with no luck, so far.

I would think it would be in the MPI of the appropriate era???

Yes the "New JD parts catalog" has a parts number search option. To my knowledge casting numbers weren't shown in old or new version of parts catalog part search unless casting number & parts number were the same which is rare.
I know on the old JD parts system "parts catalog in PDF form" the part numbers didn't show up in "where used search"

Jim,

I don't know if you're referring to hard copy parts catalogs. Casting numbers do show in them. An example is the rockshaft housing for a Model B, one of several is p/n AB3640R. The description reads: Housing, B2612R, with Bushing and Oil Seal. B2612R is the casting number on the housing.

Does the new JD online parts have a "where used" search? I remember the old one did.
