SCV Poppet Valves

Any idea what would cause this. I pulled this off the 3rd remote on a 4640. My friend had made a linkage to operate this. It seemed to be centered ok. Was leaking by fast and when I pulled the poppets out, they both had identical scarring. Any ideas?

Some sort of debris passed through the valve from whatever was coupled to that SCV.

I have hundreds of them here that look like that,,metal in the system is the primary cause,,a chip will get stuck in the nylon seat and let oil go by cutting a groove into the seat.

That's pretty common. Just replace the valves and
you should be OK.
