John Deere L

I'm the new owner of a 1940 John Deere L. Tractor came with a sickle bar mower and cultivators. I can't find any literature on these attachments. I have a pile of parts and I'm trying to figure them out. Can someone post some pictures of these attachments mounted on the tractor or tell me where I can find some books on them? E mail is open. Thanks, Mark.

Mark, you can go to the john Deere Parts website and view and download parts catalogs, most of which have a drawing of the implements mounted on a tractor on one of the first pages. (.pdf format)

In a previous thread, I posted some possible model numbers for your mower, which will make those parts catalogs easy to find.

I don't know what the cultivator model number might be, but there is a "Equipment Search" that you can enter "cultivator" in, and look through the search results for what you have.

(This is the old DEERE parts site, which they keep threatening to take down, but it was still usable earlier this morning.)
