I recently purchased a 1965 4020 powershift and am going to take the loader off my 4010 and install on the 4020. On the 4010 I feed a 3 spool valve from the port in front of brake pedal. The line feeding this port from the priority valve is a 5/8 line all the way to the 3 point rock shaft. On the 4020, this line is 1/2 all the way. Are all 4020s like this or just the power shift. the 1/2 seems to small to feed my 3 spool valve. Thinking about feeding the 3 spool valve from the 5/8 line that supplies oil to the priority valve. any thoughts on if the 1/2 line would supply enough oil to my 3 spool valve without restricting to much oil flow. seems odd that they would put a smaller line on the 4020. thanks for any help you could give me.

I think a loader with ind hyd valve attached to rockshaft hyd supply line on a '65 4020 with powershift trans will operate fine. I know the 158 FEL I installed on a '66 4020 with PS trans with hyd valve attached at same RS supply line does. I even returned oil from loader valve to trans case because tractor owner didn't want it routed to hyd filter.
Attaching a hyd valve in front of pressure(priority) valve defeats the purpose of the pressure control valve which is to give priority hyd oil pressure to steering & brakes.

I have had a 158 Loader plumbed into my 1965 JD 4020 Powershift for better than 30 years at the fitting below the brake peddles. I have never had an issue with not having enough oil (pressure or volume).

THANKS for your message, it looks like what i was looking for, BUT i could not pull it up on my ebay. i guess i-m too old school to know how to properly message you or pull up this seller on ebay etc.. etc... turning 70 this year. i don't get on my computer but about once a week. been working 51 years at DEERE dealer.
