I'm currently restoring a 1939 John Deere B and I purchased some aftermarket steering shaft bearings that were supposed to be for a "B". The problem I ran into is they do not fit the original races. Even the inside diameter was to big and didn't fit to the shaft like they should. The part numbers to the bearings matched up to what the supplier called for. My question is has anyone else ran into this problem? Did the Older B John Deeres use a different size bearing than the newer ones? Or do I need to visit my local John Deere dealer. My races looked great but the original bearings were missing a couple of rollers is why I'm trying to replace them in case anyone is wondering.
