Thanks for your response regarding removing injectors. I am recovering from surgery and frankly forgot I had posted that topic. Now that I am feeling better it occurred to me I had posted this, I had to go to the Modern Forum to find it.

Anyway, thanks a lot. I will start them soaking. The welding idea is excellent.

Welding a place to screw your slide hammer to is a last resort,and looks a bit ugly,,but at that point the injector is already junk...

There should be a tool that is like a slide hammer and grab the two slots on each side of the injector?
 
The last injectors I removed I had one or two that would not budge. I borrowed the correct slide hammer from the local dealership and destroyed it. Not my better day. I will get the correct tool, however based on prior experience it is good to have a back up plan.

You will also find using a smaller air hammer on the sides to rattle them will help get the really rusted ones out too. You can not go wild just lightly rattle it around.
 
I had a loader tractor off a dairy farm that had never seen a shed or a hose that was stuck so bad I had to pull the head and drive it out. Took me 2 hours to wash the sh@t and silage off the engine just to find the injectors.
 
I have had some like that,, and I have never pulled the head to drive them out,,Yet...The slide hammer trick has been working for me so far,,I have different fittings for the different injectors,,a 3/8" fine threaded fitting for the old 4010 style, a fitting welded up using a line nut for the newer style injectors..
