4960 digital tach

I have a '94 4960 with a nonworking digital tach. It has the electronic injection pump. It's my understanding there are two speed sensors. One picking
up speed from the front of the engine on the cam. The other being a speed sensor in the injection pump. I replaced the speed sensor on front of engine
but it did not correct problem. The tractor runs fine, I just don't have a tach reading. I've had the ECM out that lives under the cab, but I haven't found
anyone capable for diagnostics. They are expensive to replace! Am I missing something here?

The sensor in the pump is just for the ecu/pump. The one in the timming cover is for tach. There are some diag for the tach but you will need a book to inter addresses and know what it is telling you.

Measure the sensor circuit for continuity from the “computer” up to the sensor and back to the other “computer “ sensor connector. Using an ohm meter to verify the circuit is not open.
