4020 shop time - Which seat and radiator to buy?

Time to line up parts for winter projects.
Who has a recommendation on seat cushions? See some with no seams in the seat, which would be nice because tractor does sit outside some. Should keep water out, but they look real thin compared to most others.

Radiator. Prices seem all over the map on Evilbay. From
$250 ish to over $600. Anyone have a favorite supplier?

If the tanks are good I would take the
radiator to a good shop and get a new core
made here in the states put in. Sure it
will cost a little more but it's worth it.

The seamless seats I've seen are stretched too tight
and are hard. A heavy guy might be okay with them.
Deere's seats aren't what they used to be so I don't know
who has a good one now.
Around here there aren't any radiator shops left. I found
the higher cost of Deere's radiators was worth it compared
to the after markets.

Had a high back after market seat on my 4020 ONCE. Hated it. I'm not a big guy and I couldn't see around or over that high back. Glad when it wore out and replaced it with a JD seat.

(quoted from post at 22:25:14 01/03/19) I literally just bought that seat yesterday and put it on my 2510 this morning.

Did you get the highback seat like the picture above? What is the part #?

P.S. How's the top link working out for you?

I have been using the K&M seats and cushions the last 4-5 years. Good quality and less money than OEM. On radiators I try to have local shops use the old tank and replace the core with a US made one. The imported radiators usually have thinner cores and not as many fins. So less cooling capacity.

The cheaper radiators usually have less rows of tubes in them and will not cool the engine as well because of the decreased surface area. Count the rows of tubes in your radiator and make sure any replacement radiator or core has as many or more.

The part number is ty26550. I paid $261 for
it. I just checked this morning and now
they want $330. Maybe I caught it on sale I
guess. I'm still undecided about it. I put
it on and sat in it but haven't run the
tractor yet. The back is really nice. The
bottom cushion however has no give at all.
Almost feels like sitting on an old metal
pan seat. I'm hoping it'll develop some
give with use. The center link is hanging
up in the barn right now. Eventually it'll
go on a tractor that's sitting in the shed
in a nonoperative state. How's yours
working out?

I have several A&I replacement radiators here on the farm. The one in my 4020 has been in use over 10 years with no problems. It was made by Clancy in Ireland. The replacement you buy today from A&I might not be the same or as good. Deere quit making good replacement seat cushions 10 or more years ago. My local Farm & Fleet store puts the metal backed three piece kits on sale each year for a little less than $100. I usually buy 2 or 3 and they seem to hold up good. I usually put the new ones on my tractors and take the ones showing just a little wear and put on a tractor to sell. Tom

Thanks to all for the replies.

Kansas 4010, The top link is excellent. The old one filled a need, but it's nice to have the correct one.

I?ve had the best luck so far with the John Deere
seat cushions but they?re thinner than some of the
aftermarket ones my tractors sit outside there entire
lives .

Kansas my 4020 seat was the same way when I first put it on I hated it but then it softened up after a few weeks . Let me Know how you like that high back seat

Sure thing. Like I said before right now I'm not to impressed. Hopefully it does soften up. If it does I think it'll be a lot better than the original style.
