Needed a power steering seal...

This is what happens when you run a 720 for YEARS with a leaking power steering seal...

A customer's tractor that showed up at my shop some years back. Wish I had an "after" photo when we were done with it!

Bet everything under that smudge was well protected from moisture. I would rather have a leaky thing than a rusty thing.

How bad was the radiator pluged? How many times did they cook the engine before it got fixed.

Rust prevention. Still much better than having to clean all the manure off a dairy tractor before a split.

Got a 3020 with a hole in the valve cover I patched that is leaking that looks just about as bad . And when I switched it from 303 tractor hydraulic fluid to the j20c spec I sprung some hydraulic leaks as well

The fan blows air AWAY from the radiator so not too likely that this leaking power steering oil would plug the radiator.

"How bad was the radiator pluged?"

The fan whipped the oil from the PS pump all over under the hood, and even drew it forwards and into the radiator core.

EVERYTHING was a mess, and, yes the radiator core was NASTY, as well.

A brush, and hot water and Dawn soap, and blow everything loose out of the core with compressed air, and REPEAT, again, and again.

AFAIK, they never overheated it, as they were just doing a little mowing with a 7' sickle mower.

Leaking pedestal is in front of the radiator. When the pump seals leak they allow air to be drawn into the system. The rear pump seal leaking will actually pull motor oil up the fan shaft and overfill the steering system. Foaming oil comes out the vent on top of the pedestal. My 620 looked a lot like that tractor when the bearing went on my power steering pump. The vacuum leaks caused foaming oil that did not come out the pump shaft.
