4020 Weep hole seepage after rebuild

Recently swapped a 404D into a nice low houred gas 4020. The 404D was completely overhauled out of frame about a year or so ago. Finally got it running toda. It runs perfect and sounds really nice, but after it warmed up, it started seeping oil from the weep hole closest to the starter. Thoughts?

Run it a few hours. I have seen this often and agree with post below about it being extra lube from the orings. If it were my tractor I would plug the weep holes and forget it if the leak does not stop. It could mean one oring failed. Keep the coolant in good condition and it could easily last 20 or more years. The later tractors do not have the holes so you never know if an oring is leaking or not. I have a 3020 here that I must have damaged an oring on 15 years ago that we plugged and it has not had any problems yet. Tom

I'm leaning towards what D- stated,,it is absolutely imperative to have the o-ring grooves clean, a bit of crust in one will let the o-ring protrude and shear when the liner goes past, and to pull the rabbit out of the Hat..plug the weep hole and go on..I add a third o-ring into the middle groove when re-building them.

Another thing I noticed today is that I'm seeing a tiny amount of oil bubbles/spitting then running down from the head gasket. Could this be related to the weephole seepage? Is it common to re-tighten the head bolts once the motor has been ran and warmed up?

There are two schools of thought, first is retorque is not needed because factory does not, the other is always retorque then re-check valves.

It never hurts, and if leaks I would absolutely do it.

Most times with a new O/H there will be some oil in the exhaust which will slobber out the exhaust manifolds,,it will look like the head is leaking,,this will happen till the engine rings seat,,shows up more when you idle around..

I wish that were the case, but it's not. It's clearly from the seam between the head and block, well above the manifold ports. I took a short video of it but no way to post on here.
