3155 blowing fuse

3155 is getting on my nerves. It will blow number 8 fuse when the tractor is running within 5 minutes or so. With the key on, engine off it will not blow, with the same swithes on. I unhooked the alternator, and still blew. I installed a new fuse card and still blew. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone have a wiring diagram and a fuse diagram? The operators manual is not in the tractor so idk which fuse is what. Any help would be great thanks

I lose the dash, battery light comes on, blower motors quit, tractor will not restart until new fuse is installed.

Un plug the wire that goes from the thermostat housing to the injector pump,,the sensor in the housing shorts out,,the tractor will run fine with it unplugged,,there will be two sensors there one is for the gauge the other goes to the injector pump.

I think if I remember on the 1 I had the card that holds the fuses had got hot because of loose contact with that fuse. If that card is discolored brown by that fuse replace the card. Once it had been hot it will not make good contact if it is not discolored bend those point closer together to make a tighter fit on the fuse.

Are you referring to the cold start sensor(RE503242) that has a long/long history of shorting out. I think JD engineers hadn't introduced that sensor until after the 55 series ceased production.

Yes, it doesn?t not have the cold advance. I can?t find any rubber
wires or anything. The fuse card is new but I?ll try and bent the
contacts where the card inserts.

Becomes important to examine your collection of blown fuses. Did they melt with solder balls inside the glass or did they blow at the wasp waist portion of the filament? Melting occurs due to weak grasp of the fuse retaining clips and/or dirty brass there. Clean the brass with sandpaper, re-tension the griping springs for better contact.

Properly blown fuses might be a blower motor on it's last legs using too much power, see how long they last without turning the fan on? How many amps is #8 fuse?

20 amp is the magic number for a single blower motor, they typically draw 8 amps when new. But just before they burn up and die they will blow a 20 amp fuse easily. Try to run it without turning the blower on and if it doesn't blow the fuse at all, you pretty much have to buy a new blower motor.
