4020 24v regulator rubber mounting brackets

Took the regulator off to clean and the rubber mounting bracket on the left side has both ears broken off. The one on the right is ok. The prior owner used a zip tie to hold the regulator on. JDPARTS says the part is NLA. Can these be purchased new somewhere or should i go to the salvage yard? Has anyone fabricated a replacement? What did you use?

The voltage reg is fine. The rubber bracket is a separate part that bolts to the reg and to the frame of the tractor.

I think I have some take off's here,, I will check...I have a vendetta to change every 24 volt 4020 over to 12 in my area,,can't be too many left...

I am with you on getting rid of all of them. I laugh every time a 24 volt question comes up on here at the dozen replies and no one agreeing. I do not think I have ever seen a 12 volt question on here.Tom

If Tim doesn't have them I may have used ones here. I share his line of thinking to convert them. Never have any complaints from those that have been converted.

Who or where do you buy your conversion kits ?? I have extra 12 volt starters and alternators that I have picked up over the years.

Amen I'll totally agree on changing 24 volt to 12 volt system. Unless it a collector type tractor that someone wants it to be 100% original it should be changed to 12 volts.

I make them up here Usually an Iskra starter,a Delco self exciter alt,,a couple ground cables, a starter relay that I mount under the cowl and make up a harness to go from the stater to the relay with the nuetruel safety switch included in the mix.

Those who reply to 24V system questions usually DO AGREE if they have an electronics or electrical engineering education and experience.
