I am working on a serial number plate for a 42 Model H. All of the repros I have found show silver letters on
a black background. My original plate has a 3/16 inch black border which leads me to believe the background
was probably silver and black letters. The border stripe is probably screen printed. The plate is steel, and
was painted green when I started. All letters are raised.
Can someone tell me what the original looked like?
