JD A Radiator

JD A Radiator is secured by 4 small bolts under frame. Is there an easy way to get to these bolts? Socket wrench will not fit.
Secondly, they are rusty and could break off. Should I heat the bolts first? Thanks!

You can heat the bolts good-n red and keep them red for a minute or so to let the heat get way up to the radiator casting then walk away a few hours to let them cool down completely. Use a large brazing tip to pinpoint the heat. A brazing tip might be the only tip you can get up there anyway. Clean out anything that can burn first. It might work, then again it might not but there is nothing to lose by trying it.

Not sure about an A but an H only has two bolts.
You can heat the bosses on the bottom of the radiator
thru some holes in the frame.

You have a cyclone A there is 4 1/2" bolts as you say , not two. Earlier A's used 2 5/8" bolts.
Heat is your best friend. If the heads are gone, cut them off & then once the radiator is out
your able to apply the heat where you need to & remove the Bolts.. Be sure to apply never sieze
when you reassemble.

The late-styled (cyclone) A uses 4 cap screws and lock washers to secure the radiator.

The screws are 7/16" x 1-1/4" long. They're shown as key 43, for ser. # 584000 and up, on page 68/69 of PC-675.
