JD B wico C mag firing ?

With the wico C the mag fires every stroke compression and exhaust. My question is can it still be 180 out if the plug wire on the bottom is on the left plug. Prolly a dumb question but I was always told the dumb question was the one you didn't ask!!! Help a friend get his dad's B running. Thanks for your help.

Disclaimer: I am a Farmall guy. However I'm sharing my recent experience with a friend's hand-start JD A...

He had been using the tractor when the magneto (a Wico....I don't know the model) loosened then "fell off" the engine (his words, not mine) causing the tractor die in the field. He told me he aligned the timing marks and bolted the mag back on. But the tractor absolutely refused to even pop when cranked. Out of desperation he asked me to look at it.

On a lark first thing I tired was to reverse the plug wires at the mag. Second tug of the flywheel and the tractor fired right up.

Bottom line: Try swapping plug wires before you get too deep!

No, it's a wico C like this one in the picture.

You ask "My question is can it still be 180 out if the plug wire on the bottom is on the left plug"

Answer is YES so try swapping the wires
