4240 with FEL

I've got a 4240 with a Koyker 565 FEL on it with joystick. I have the loader attached to the left hand scv with lever in continuous flow position. Everything is ok there, but the 3 point won't raise with a load until scv lever is put in neutral. Would I be better connecting to the right hand scv, or do you think that would matter?

I'll neck on this. I bought this loader used and the guy had it on a 4430. I assumed it was closed center. Not sure how to tell, but I did see on the Koyker website that some types were sent open center with a plug to make it closed center??? Learn something new everyday! Thanks for the info!

Disconnect loader control valve ""return hose"" from breakaway coupler, remove male coupler tip from this hose, aim hose in open tractor hyd filler hole. Start engine then engage scv control lever the normal direction to power loader valve. With loader valve spools in neutral no oil should exit open return hose. If oil exits hose look for CC plug to have a blown internal seal OR relief valve on loader valve isn't adjusted tight enough IE bottomed out.

Got in this evening and tried that. Wasn't positive on which was return so I tried each and had flow either way. Haven't had a chance to check with Koyker about the part to make it closed center. If it is in relief valve, it that something I could possibly adjust? I'll try and attach a picture, and I can see an adjustment on one side of the valve. I assume that's the return. Haven't dealt with this before. Thanks.

Object circled in blue is relief valve. Tighten it down completely. Hyd line in photo is the "in" or pressure line. If valve has an orifice for closed center plug it will be on other side of valve body out of view.

I don't see where I can tighten the relief valve. Seems to be bottomed out. Didn't put a wrench on it though. I contacted a Koyker parts dealer today and am waiting on info. Wondering about checking return for orifice, but don't know about size. I'll post what I find out. Thanks!

Did you remove cap from screw on relief valve then try to turn screw CW?

I spoke to one of the reps from Koyker and I do have an open center valve. According to him I need to move my return line, put in a couple of closed center plugs, and tighten down on the relief valve. Thanks for all the help and I will let you know.

Thanks for the advice. I did have a open center valve and was able to convert to a closed center with a couple of plugs and reroute of the return line. Thanks for y'alls help!
