Unpinned the transmission linkages from the shift mechanism and was able to shift the transmission into gear to load it. The shifter is locked up any tricks or advise to rebuild the shifter?

remove the cowl, pull the shift rod pins, reach up under the dash to hold a 5/8" nut with a 15/16" wrench, the with a crescent wrench un-screw the shift center pin and pull it out then set the quadrants out while you have it apart install new bushings, center pivot and shift yokes and pins,, take a look at the lower shift rod area to see how bad the holes are number

I'll add to what Tim stated to closely inspect latch(key 6) for wear because a worn latch can let drums move when they're suppose to be stationary making shifting difficult.
