JD 520 LP research

I am looking for places I can get information on my 1958 520 LP tractor such as what options it came with from the factory as well as how many were made like it and just general information like that so I can try to determine the rarity and original equipment for a possible restoration. I am willing to do the research myself with some help on where to look but I am also open to paying a company to do all of this for me.

Thanks

Hope this helps.

BTO neighbor I worked for part time in HS and college had a 520 gas. Only tractor of his I never ran
Thank Goodness! Muffler had the guts blown out of it, you could hear it over a mile away down-wind on a
windy day. He planted corn with 4-38" planter with it, planted beans with his home-made #690 planter in
6-30's, Had the matching cultivator for the 520 to cultivate beans. He farmed around 1000-1200 acres when
I stopped working for him, he bought a 160 acres most every year. He bought new 4020's two at a time,
got av4020 & 4320 in '69 or '70, then a 4230, then 2470 Case. He used the 520 to haul in haylage when I
ran the chopper for him in the summers. Had a pair of BIG Deere Chuck wagons, looked like an Ant pulling
a loaf of bread.

There was an old B sitting back in a grove of trees that I suspect was it's predecessor. He had a tired
old A and a 60 I ran quite a bit but most of the time ran one of the three 4020's or 4320. The one day I
rotary hoed an 80 acre field of beans with the 60 and 6-30 hoe was a very long day, crawled along in 4th
gear all day. No 4020's available. Bet I could have got done in half the time with the NFE side console
4020-D.
