John Deere 3140

I would appreciate your opinions on the JD 3140 4wd and what I should look for in considering to buy one. I know they are 100 hp, made in Germany during the 80's and that's about it. Going to look at one tomorrow and if anyone has specific advice on things I should consider or check out on my visit I would really appreciate it. Never owned a John Deere. This unit has a loader on it. Thanks!

How many hrs are showing on tachometer? Does drawbar hole &/or 3 pt draft link balls exhibit much wear? Check clutch/brake pedals for wear. Check operation of hyd hi-lo & hydraulics with hyd oil at operating temp(200°). Test PH of engine coolant.

. As long as the proper hydraulic oil has been added, changed on occasion and the filter/screen kept changed/clean. Along with the previously stated keeping the coolant corrosion inhibitor up to spec .
It should be ok for a 36+ year old machine .
