2955 front axle leak

I have noticed recently that my front axle is leaking grease/oil from my front axle. It is coming from behind the hub. I have looked at the drawings from john Deere parts website and it looks like there is a seal around the shaft and an O-ring around the outer housing on the axle. I was wondering if there is anything I should be worried about when taking this apart. This is a four wheel drive model.

(Basically an unbolt and bolt)remove wheel and tire. Drain the oil, remove the planetary cover, remove
the planetary, then remove the bolts/plate holding the hub and bearings. Clean everything well,(if oil
was getting out dirt was getting in) carefully check the bearings and races for damage. replace the
seal, check the housing where the seal rides, for grooves, and if necessary use a speedy sleeve so the
seal has a smooth surface to ride on, and carefully reinstall the hub, being careful not to damage the
seal it is heavy (an engine hoist will be your friend)install the planetary and cover with a new o ring
and refill with oil.

Thanks for the information. I also have a very small amount of oil coming from around the axle shaft. Should I replace the bushing and seal while I have this apart and if so how difficult is it to get the shaft removed.

I have removed the planetary cover the snap ring and bots from the hub. Now a cannot seem to get the hub to budge. Is there a special tool to pull it off or should us heat.
