John Deere M carb

The flow meter valve on my John Deere M (52) keeps vibrating loose. Fell out the other day. Is there a way to fix this?

Are you talking about the load mixture adjustment screw ? There is an adjustable packing you can snug it down.

You could always put a small dab of purple (low strength) loctite on the threads, you should still be able to turn it by hand with some pressure

I have an MT with an "L" shaped adjustment like on the bottom of the MS carb... I think they are about the same for the M as well... If you tighten the nut on the base; the packing will grip that adjustment as tight as you need it.... Probably need to back it out first. AND they could have made one without packing or maybe missing on some.
