Need help with 4010 steering!

When rolling it will steer right just fine, but struggles to turn left. It makes chattering noise when not steering and when turning right. Chatter goes away when steering to left. At idle and parked it won't steer left. Is this enough to determine if the problem is in the valve or motor. Also I read in the archives about a steel line making a noise. Could that be the chatter? And if so why does it go away when steering left. Thanks

There is a TV show called better call Saul, on here it would be better call Tim S, he is the expert on those and offers a rebuild service.

I will check the three point. He has been splitting wood with it and it did just fine on the splitter. I don't have a flow meter. Maybe I could tell by the speed of the splitter ram?

when the oil pressure gets low the hitch and steering get 'Jerky'..so if this is happening in all the functions you have a pressure/flow issue..if it is only happening in the steering you will need to have the steer valve rebuilt,,I can rebuild, calibrate and bench test it here if you want.. That happened to my 4010 several years ago. The steering valve behind the dash was the problem. Not really that hard of a job to remove. Local industrial JD dealer that sells skidders and forestry equipment rebuilt mine. It is the same unit as on a skidder of the same vintage. Been great ever since.
