Some 50's don't have a convertible pedestal, but I'll bet you know that already. Mine would be a big job to convert because I'd have to change the pedestal too.
 
No I dont think I know what a covertible pedestal is ..I have had farmall pedestals off and on but not a deere .and there seems to be 2 of the holes ,on the mounting plate that someone has made larger for some reason. that's what makes me believe it was on something else than the 60 model .
 
The convertible pedestal is a two piece unit that allows you to remove the lower portion and leave the part under the sheet metal in place. My 50 is an early model, and it has the one piece pedestal. If yours is a convertible pedestal, it will have four large bolts visible below the grill - these bolts hold the lower portion in place.
